Passenger traffic at Athens Airport during May 2025 amounted to 3.1 million, up 2.9% compared to 2024. Domestic demand fell by 2.1% compared to 2024 levels, while international passenger traffic continued its upward trend, exceeding 2024 levels by 5.0%.
Overall, according to AIA data, during the first five months of the year, the airport’s traffic reached 11.62 million passengers, recording an increase of 8.5%. Passenger traffic, both domestic and international, increased by 2.4% and 11.0% respectively.
It is noted that this year the Orthodox Easter period was celebrated in April, while for 2024, in May.
Flights
The number of flights at Athens International Airport during the first five months of 2025 amounted to 99,185, recording an increase of 7.4% compared to 2024. Domestic flights showed a small increase of 0.8%, while international flights recorded a significant increase of 11.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
